Agustin Capriati from Faculty of Fishery and Marine Science (FPIK) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) is crowned as the fifth winner on the night of the selection of outstanding students (Mawapres) 2014 in Grand Inna Hotel Kuta Bali on Saturday (12/7). This inauguration is based on the final core from 15 finalists and Agustin achieves 80.75 points to defeat the finalists from ITS, Undip, Unpad and UGM.
The Night of Mawapres Selection is attended by the Director-General of Higher Education (Dirjen Dikti), Djoko Santoso. Djoko gives advice to the finalists to get ready to be a professional person to face AFTA (ASEAN Free Trade Area) which will be applied on 2015.
“AFTA requires us to be ready and be professional,” he said. Mawapres has a theme of Independent Indonesia which has been started since 28 May by selecting the best students of undergraduate and vocational programs. The number of students who participate in Mawapres are as much as 141 participants. They are 77 participants from undergraduate programs and 64 participants from vocational programs. The next stage is desk evaluation (4-6/6) which produces 30 finalists; 15 finalists for undergraduate and 15 finalists from vocational programs.
